Connecting the app to iManage on-prem

Xerox® Connect App for iManage now has the ability to connect to iManage Work on-premise. But, there is some initial setup you must do first. This setup requires some technical skills, so if you have any questions about the process, please see your system administrator.

Before you complete the steps below and ultimately use the app, you also have to follow the instructions for registering the app: Register Connect for iManage with iManage Work

Important: Connect for iManage only supports iManage Work 10.2 servers. It does not support older versions, such as 10.1.

  1. Open a port in your external firewall and forward it to your on-premise iManage server. For example, you could set your firewall to forward port 50000 to port 443 on your iManage server. Port forwarding will allow Connect for iManage’s services to connect to your on-prem instance.
  2. Once you’ve forwarded a port, you should be able to access your iManage server’s login screen by going to x.x.x.x:50000 in a web browser.
Note: If you’re concerned about security, you can whitelist Connect for iManage’s IP address (52.173.84.157) and only allow traffic from Connect for iManage to the port you’ve opened. All other traffic can be blocked.
  3. Now that your firewall is configured to access your on-prem server, you must follow the steps to register the application, which can be found here.
  4. Next, you can install Connect for iManage from the Xerox App Gallery. If you have any questions about installing apps, please see the Xerox App Gallery Knowledge Base.
  5. When installing Connect for iManage, you’ll be prompted to enter two App Gallery configuration values – both are required:
    1. iManage URL: Enter the public IP address and port of your iManage on-premise server, prefixed with https://. These are the values you set in steps 1 and 2. For example, https://x.x.x.x:50000
    2. Disable cert validation: Enter true if you need to disable the verification for a self-signed SSL certificate. Otherwise, enter false.
  6. Once you’ve entered the two configuration values, you can click OK and install the app on a device.
  7. When installation is complete, opening the app on a device will take you to the login screen. Enter the username and password for your on-prem instance of iManage and select OK.
Note: You do not have to include corp\ when entering your username on the device.
